About Us
Autumn marks the beautiful amalgamation of the old and new. Similarly, we have tried to blend in the traditional with the modern to create a beautiful fusion. Each piece tells a story of the past and the times we’ve evolved to. We celebrate artisanal techniques and fabrics that exist since times immemorial in India and curate silhouettes that are contemporary in nature.
Clothes are rightfully our second skin, and we believe that there can be nothing better than natural, breathable fabrics. Hence, we use fabrics made from natural fibers only, including handwoven fabrics to give you that perfectly comfortable and breathable feel.
We truly believe that what you wear and the space you live in, is an expression of your true self, and there’s no reason it should be anything less than extraordinary.
We curate hand crafted apparel for every reason and every season.
Every product at Autumn Hues is created thoughtfully and artistically, and we hope you enjoy using them as much as we have enjoyed crafting them for you!

About our Fabrics
We have always been against the trend, our clothes are multi seasonal, multi functional and long lasting as we believe in buying less but buying better.
We refrain from using any synthetic fabric to create low quality products, that which the market today is filled with, and is termed as fast fashion. The impact it has on our environment is alarming. The carbon footprint that the fashion industry causes is no secret. Polyester, a byproduct of the petroleum industry, takes anywhere between 20 – 200 years to decompose. Now that’s not a great statistic and nor does it help us in any particular way, it feels awful and clammy on the skin.
By making the right purchase decisions consciously, we can choose to help the environment by choosing apparel made from natural fabrics. Now, that’s what we call a win-win situation!
Nature knows best!
We use fabrics that come from natural sources which means they also are 100% biodegradable. They therefore do not have a lasting impact on the environment and the icing on the cake is that it is so easy on our skin. Our designs make you look and feel great without the guilt of its adverse impact on our environment.
So you know what you’re wearing, we’ve listed the fabrics we use, and its properties.
Cotton
Famous as it is! Known for its natural breathable and absorbent properties. This fabric comes from the seedpod of the cotton plant.
Organic Cotton
This is the eco-friendly version of cotton. The crop in this case is not grown with the help of agricultural chemicals such as pesticides or fertilizers, therefore does not contaminate the soil, water or air in the process. It uses far less water during its lifecycle.
Hemp
It is one of the more strong and durable kind of fabrics. It’s a premium plant fiber made from Cannabis Sativa. The fabric is porous and therefore more absorbent and breathable on the skin. It is an extremely fast-growing crop and does more good to the soil it is grown on than harm. Let’s just say, it’s a futuristic fabric!
Mul
This fine and soft cotton muslin is a sheer like fabric made from the plain weave cotton yarn and feels dreamy and soft on the skin. In the 17thcentury, India, particularly in the Bengal region began hand weaving mul and over years gained popularity around the world. The art suffered during colonialization; however, the fabric in its avatar today is still alluring.
Linen
This fabric is obtained from the Flax plant. Cultivating the Flax plant is considered sustainable. It is a natural fiber, soft, cool and light weight. It has a high tenacity and strength is one of its main properties. The fabric’s breathability and sturdy nature allows it to last through many seasons.
Viscose
This fabric is derived from wood pulp, which makes it natural. Over the years, viscose has had a bad reputation for damaging the environment as the process is a very polluting one. However, the method has evolved, making it sustainable like any other 100% natural fabric. We source only from reputable manufacturers that use sustainable methods to create this soft, easy to drape and breathable fabric.
Bemberg
This fabric is made from cotton linter, the fuzz around the cotton seed. Using technology, it is then transformed into pure regenerated fiber. Bemberg rapidly absorbs moisture, keeping the wearer cool and comfortable. It is a lustrous and smooth fabric and it is highly biodegradable too!
Modal
This is a fabric that is derived from wood pulp-based cellulosic fiber. The raw material cellulose, from beechwood, is converted into a super soft fabric called Modal. It is shrink resistant, soft and slightly shiny. The texture is silky and smooth. It is carbon neutral and therefore an eco-friendly fabric.
Silk
Lustrous and soft! Appropriate for all climates. Demands extra care but is one of the most comfortable fabrics in the world. The fiber collected from the silk cocoon and is spun into silk yarn and threads.
Single Jersey
A knitted fabric used to make T-shirts and is made of 100% cotton.
French Terry
This is a 100% cotton knitted fabric that has loops and soft piles of yarn on one side and is usually smooth and soft on the surface of the other side. It is mainly used to make sweatshirts. It is highly absorbent, lightweight and moisture wicking and therefore can be worn pretty much around the year.
Crepe
This is a woven fabric, made of 100% silk. Different kinds of crepe vary in opacity and weight. For example, it could be crinkled or pebbled in texture. The fabric falls effortlessly, making it an incredible choice for occasion wear
We are constantly evolving as a brand and on a look out for fabrics and weaves that resonate with our ethos. At Autumn Hues, you will find that our collection is created with one of these fabrics or a blend of either of these.
Please note: There are various types of variants available in all of the above listed fabrics. However, the properties specified are of the fabric that we use at Autumn Hues.
